Counter-Strike 2 just got its most significant update yet, adding the ever-popular Gun Game( aka Arms Race) along with a whole host of new customization options.
Arms Race has officially made its return to Counter-Strike 2, having been temporarily absent. After Valve converted Counter-Strike Global Offensive into the FPS volume in September 2023.
It’s a Gun Game that all shooter lovers have come to love and anticipate Race to get kills with each of the game’s weapons, with the final game-winning kill forcing players to use a blade, or now, the Zeus stun gun.
Speaking of the Zeus, with the latest Call to Arms update, the weapon has finally received some love. The weapon now allows personalised tags and sticker placement. Also, it has its debut skin as part of the update’s Kilowatt Case and has a 30-second recharge in all game modes.
All weapons now allow custom sticker placement, thus stickers are no longer restricted to a small number of pre-determined locations on each weapon. Players now have even more customisation choices with each weapon supporting up to five stickers.
The majority of the update consists of customisation. Players can gather a new knife and 17 weapon skins created by the community in the Kilowatt case, which is the first weapon case in Counter-Strike 2. In addition, gamers may now purchase six new music kits and the Ambush Sticker Capsule, which features 21 stickers created by the community.
The remainder of the update consists of bug fixes and a few minor tweaks to lessen “peeker’s advantage,” which has been an issue of concern among the best players in the community since the game’s release.
Additional modifications include the addition of defeat animations at the end of matches and a new “XP Overload” icon that appears next to player names and stacks from week to week to indicate when a player has accrued all of their weekly XP.
